Author: SKB "Transport Innovation", InETS, head Gorshenina E.Y.
Handbike - affordable movement for people with disabilities, a means for movement, rehabilita-tion and sports. Many people who have musculoskeletal system problems, due to trauma or con-genital pathology, do not have the opportunity to spend time on bike trips in the city and its fea-tures, such an opportunity is given by Handbike. As handbikes developed, their popularity began to grow, which gradually became a separate sport. SKB "Transport Innovation" within the framework of the "Available Environment" program offers a "Handbike" project, which is a means of rehabilitation and social adaptation of low-mobile groups of population. Handbike - an alternative to the bike-simulator and is something between a wheelchair and a simulator. Hand-bike is much better adapted for people with disabilities than, for example, traditional wheelchairs. The availability of full-fledged sports for people with disabilities will improve the overall health of the region.
